| DESCRIPTION |
The Swiss private international law act of 1987 includes in its Chapter 6 a series of provisions concerning the jurisdiction and applicable law in succession matters, as well as the recognition of related decisions and other measures. The goal of these provisions is to avoid conflicts of jurisdictions and conflicts of laws, so as to provide as much certainty as possible in succession matters. The entry into force of the EU succession regulations has triggered the need for a review of the Swiss rules. The speaker will present the main proposed amendments to the existing rules. |
