DESCRIPTION This webinar will look at the requirements on the provision of information on beneficiaries of trusts to financial institutions in Switzerland, the US, the UK, Luxembourg and Jersey.  It is important to understand the legal and regulatory requirements even though institutions may well have stricter requirements in place to manage their institutional risks.  Trusts are obviously very flexible ranging from the pure discretionary to those with certain present or future rights to income or capital.  There is the role played by wishes of the settlor/beneficiaries and the role of the protector.  There are more than ever issues of security and confidentiality and the use of information once in the hands of a financial institution.  Understanding how the protection of beneficiaries are affected by the legal requirements to provide information and the demands of financial institutions can be vital in structuring and restructuring wealth for families.
